Bruce Davis Gaw's Obituary
Bruce Davis Gaw, 82 of Longview, passed away Tuesday, October 12, after a courageous battle. He was surrounded by his family.
Mr. Gaw was born in Clovis, New Mexico on October 27, 1912 to William Lee and Kitty Dell Gaw. He graduated from Longview High School and played on the 1937 State Championship football team. During World War II Mr. Gaw served in the 445th Bombardment Group, 2nd Air Division, 8th Air Force. He retired from Trinity Utilities of Dallas. He later returned to East Texas and Caddo Lake, his favorite fishing hole.
Mr. Gaw was preceded in death by two brothers, Durwood and Bill Gaw. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Alice; Sons: Marion Bruce Gaw of Longview and Thomas Scott Gaw and wife Suzanne of Plano; Daughters: Brenda Gaw Andrews and husband Gerald of Longview and Charline Gaw Pritchard and husband Mark of Bedford, TX.; Grandchildren: Lindsay Andrews, Kaitlin Andrews, Michael LaSasso, Ashley Pritchard, Nicholas LaSasso, Allison Gaw and Elaine Gaw; Sister: Peggy Watts and husband
Dale of Sulphur Springs, TX; Sisters in Law: Ronnie Gaw of Longview and Lou Gaw of Marshall; special friend: Mike Bolton and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, October 14, in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery.
The family will greet friends at the funeral Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM.
