Brian "Butch" Huffman
Funeral services for Brian "Butch" Huffman, 58, of Hallsville will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Jerry Ford officiating. Burial will follow in LaGrone Chapel Cemetery. He passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Huffman was born November 29, 1953 in Longview to Charlie Boyd Huffman and Mary Browning Huffman. He received his associates degree from Kilgore College and was a senior designer with Frank Hemmen Associates. He was an avid reader of Sci-Fi books and enjoyed computer programming. He also enjoyed shooting and was a member of the NRA and the Longview Pistol Club. Mr. Huffman was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who dearly loved his family, friends, country and his faithful companion "Rascal".
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shannon Butler.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 37 years, Janice Huffman of Hallsville; children, Richard Brian Huffman and wife Dawndrea of Hallsville, and Jason Alan Huffman of New York City; and his precious grandchildren, Tanner and Taylor Huffman; his mother-in-law, Nell Walker of Hallsville; his father-in-law, Charles Rushing and his wife Martha of Homer, LA; brother-in-law, Chuck Rushing and wife Liz of Athens, LA; sister-in-law, Hope Echols and husband Eddie of Longview; uncle and aunt, Dick and Jacqueline Huffman of Longview; 2 nieces and their families and numerous cousins and other relatives; and close friends, Ricky Blakeley and Paul Hinnman.
