LONGVIEW – A Celebration of Life for James Brent Taylor will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 15, at First United Methodist Church in downtown Longview with the Rev. Jay Jackson officiating. A reception and visitation will follow in Co Read Obituary
Mr. Taylor was a wonderful man and one of my strongest champions as a child. My deepest sympathies to his loved ones for their loss.
I am so sorry for your loss. I have always considered Brent a very close friend. I will always have fond memories of our association in teaching, coaching and other activities. I have always admired the enthusiasm that he showed in whatever he did. Brent will be missed.
Brent and I were roommates/teammates at Tarleton and HSU. We graduated together and both went into education. We remained in touch throughout our lives. Brent was a namesake to my son. Brent was a very special person throughout my life. He will always be remembered and cherished!🙏
We were team/roommates at HSU in Abilene. Next year we were teammates at TSU. Brent was a very good athlete in all sports. We graduated from TSU and both went into education. We stayed in contact and remained dear friends. He will be missed by All who knew him! Lifetime of wonderful memories! RIP Brother❤️
Our prayers are with the family during your loss. Brent was kind and always willing to help others. We met when we were both working at Educational Service Centers in different regions. Brent became my mentor and dear friend for many years. Also, I learned he played golf with my brother, Jimmy Dunn. I enjoyed our phone conversations and his uplifting spirit. Richard and Gail Ownby
I had Coach Taylor as a teacher at Foster Jr High. He was one of my favorites throughout my years in school. Then Friday night football following the Lobos was always something I looked forward to listening to him and the crew. You could tell he really enjoyed those times.

Have known Coach Taylor since I was at Foster Jr High. He was always an inspiration to all. Brent cherished his family, was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Pam, you and your sweet family are in my thoughts and prayers.
