Brent Anthony Swope
Mr. Brent Anthony Swope was born March 18, 1969, in Houston, TX and went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 21, 2016, in Houston, TX. He was one of four children born to Vernon and Doris Swope of Carthage, TX. Brent was raised and schooled in Beckville, TX and graduated from Beckville High School with the Class of ’87, as Salutatorian of his class. After earning his BSN and BS, he eventually went on and earned his MSN from the UT at Tyler. Mr. Swope was employed as a Nurse Practitioner with Heart’sWay Hospice of Northeast Texas. He had a compassionate and nurturing spirit and loved taking care of others. Brent had an amazing love for life, family and friends. He was always the life and laughter in any room and has given us all many memories that will live on forever.
He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. He is survived by his partner, Kyle Martin of Longview; his parents, Vernon and Doris Swope of Carthage; his sisters, Theresa Bray and husband Michael of McKinney; Felicia Anderson and husband Bob of Carthage and Jesica O’Bryan and husband George of Marshall; his five half-siblings include, James Curtis, Jeffrey McKinney, Brittany Carr, Whittany Copeland and Courtney Vasquez all of Houston; 15 nieces and nephews; two great-nieces and one great-nephew. Brent also had a numerous amount of loving and caring friends and coworkers.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, at the Woodland Christian Church. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in his memory.
