Brannon Riddle's Obituary
Napoleon Brannon Riddle, MD passed away peacefully on August 8, 2017, in Longview, Texas. Brannon was born in St. Francisville, Louisiana on May 12, 1928, to Napoleon Bonaparte Riddle and Kathleen Hastings Riddle.
Brannon was a loving husband to his wife Ann of 67 years. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his many patients. He retired from his medical practice at age 83 after more than fifty years of general and family practice. Brannon was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and watching his LSU Tigers play.
Brannon attended Vanderbilt University where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and later graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana. He obtained a Doctorate of Medicine from Louisiana State University in 1956 and interned at Confederate Hospital in Shreveport.
The Riddles came to Longview in 1961 where Brannon established his general practice. He served as Chief of Staff at Good Shepherd Medical Center from 1970 to 1971 and was a member of the Texas Medical Association and the American Medical Association. For his fifty years of practice, LSU conferred upon him a golden anniversary certificate in 2006.
The family offers its sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Heart’sWay Hospice especially Susan, Jason, and Laurie who provided Brannon and his family with loving and compassionate care. The family is very appreciative of the excellent care provided to Brannon throughout the years by Dr. Lewis Browne, Dr. Rama Nayini, and Dr. Lewis Duncan.
Brannon is survived by his wife, Ann Riddle and four daughters, Terry and husband Donnie Rauschuber, Becky and husband Buddy Ellisor, Peggy Riddle and Mary Riddle. He left six grandchildren: Kathleen Rauschuber, Margaret Rauschuber, John and wife Casey Rauschuber, Brannon and wife Megan Ellisor, Clayton Ellisor, Michael Ellisor and three great grandchildren: Emma, Olivia, and Katelyn. He is also survived by his sister Kathleen Mills of Zachary, Louisiana, his nieces and nephews, and longtime family friend Pearl Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Lorena Mills.

A memorial service will be held this Saturday at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Longview. There will be a private burial for family and friends held at Rosewood Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Saturday.
