Bowie Sellers' Obituary
Funeral services for Bowie Sellers , 85, Longview will be noon Saturday, July 26th at the Rader funeral home chapel, 1617 Judson Rd. with Mr. Gerald Pinson officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Mr. Sellers died Wednesday, July 23rd at a Longview nursing facility.
He was born February 14, 1918 at Ft. Worth, Texas to Horace and Annie Gray Sellers. A resident of Longview since 1946, Bowie was an active member of the Alpine Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a master patternmaker and the owner of S & H Pattern Works. Prior to establishing his own business, he was employed by East Texas Steel Casting.
Mr. Sellers is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David Bowie and Jan Sellers of Dallas; his daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Brooks Roland of Longview; a daughter-in-law, Tena Sellers of Plano; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Bennie and Virginia Sellers of Marshall; several nieces and nephews and a devoted friend, Roy Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Maudine, in 2001 and a son, Gene Sellers, in 2000.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening 7 to 8:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association at 1125 Judson
