Bobby Joe Nichols' Obituary
Services for Bobby Joe Nichols, 81, of Longview will be held in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at noon with Pastor Richard Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Nichols passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 in Longview.
Mr. Nichols was born in Tyler, TX to Lindsay and Marie Nichols on April 16, 1933. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp, was an officer at the Reno Police Department in Nevada and served as Captain in the Texas Department of Corrections. He is preceded in death by his father Lindsay Nichols; mother Marie Corn; brother L.C. Nichols; and daughter Linda Ladd.
He is survived by his wife Katherine Michulka Nichols of Longview; daughter Debra Williams of Longview; grandsons Chris Williams of Tyler, Freddy Sheppard of Longview; granddaughter Kathy and husband Donny Barrier of Jacksonville; 3 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law Raymond and wife Linda Michulka of Rosenberg, TX, Thomas and wife Cookie Michulka of Rosenberg; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Hicks of Staunton, VA, Virginia Vaughn of Fayetteville, AK; numerous nieces and nephews.
