Bobby James Davis' Obituary
Services for Bobby James Davis, 72, of White Oak will be held at 12 noon, Monday, December 17, 2001 at White Oak Baptist Church with Reverend Wade Duck and Reverend James A. Kirkland officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Davis died Saturday, December 15, 2001 at Longview Regional hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Davis was born May 23, 1929 in Gilmer, Texas
to James Andrew and Florence Obedience Davis. He had a long and prosperous career in the oil and gas industries throughout Texas. He worked for Sun Oil Company for twenty-five years and retired from Star International of Kilgore in September of 2000. He was a deacon, sunday school teacher, and President of the Senior Adult Ministry at White Oak Baptist Church. He was a aloving husband and a great father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Jack Davis, Jay Davis, Rex Davis, Sydney Davis, and sisters, Mildred Burleson, and Sis Rials.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Ann Clark Davis of White Oak. He is also survived by three daughters, one son, and seven grandchildren, Dorothy Ann and Gary F. Hall of Fort Worth, Becky Lynn and John A. Mingle III,
of Fort Worth, Mary Gail and Douglas L. Huddleston
of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jeffrey Todd and Wendy K. Davis of Longview. His seven granchildren are Brian Todd Hall of Nashville, Tennessee, Eric Lee and Russell Clark Huddleston of Edmond, Oklahoma, John Arthur Mingle IV of Fort Worth, James Andrew, Jeremy Frank, and Elizabeth Irene Davis of Longview. He is also survived by one sister, Edith and Edward Keys of Longview, numerous nieces and nephews, many, many friends, and a wonderful church family.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 16, 2001 from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at Rader Funeral Home.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Bobby James Davis Memorial Prayer Garden at White Oak Baptist
