Bobby J. Allen's Obituary
Bobby J. Allen age 76 of Longview passed away at home with his loving family by his side August 16, 2013. He was born September 5, 1936 in the community of New Hope outside of Jacksonville, TX. Bobby was raised in Tyler then in 1966 he moved to Longview where he and his wife made their home and raised their children.
Mr. Allen worked for Joseph Schlitz Brewery Company then the Schlitz Container. Later he became a successful business man in the area for many years.
Mr. Allen was a faithful member of the Pine Tree Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Pine Tree Masonic Lodge and the Sharon Temple Shrine. He loved spending time in the outdoors, hunting and camping with his family.
Mr. Allen is survived by his loving wife Barbara Allen, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in September, his children Mike Allen and his wife Susan, Cindy Bagley and her husband Milton, Kim Comfort and her husband Matt, four grandchildren James Baron of Houston, Elizabeth McFadden of Alaska, Matthew Comfort of Vail, CO and Meagan Evans of Longview, seven great-grandchildren and many cousins and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation 4 pm-6 pm Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Graveside services will be the next day, Monday August 19, 2013 at 11am at Tyler Memorial Park in Tyler.
