Funeral services for Bobby G. Hancock, 81 of Longview will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Valley View Baptist Church with the Reverend Tim Lindsay officiating. Burial will follow with full Firefighters Honors in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday, October 18, 2010 in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Hancock was born April 28, 1929 in Bethany, La. to William Bill and Gertrude Hancock. He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church where he served as Trustee. He proudly served his country during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He retired from The City of Longview Fire Department as Senior Captain and Maintenance Chief with 28 years of service. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Hancock was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucille Hancock; two sons, Robert W. Hancock and Jerry L. Hancock and his wife Tanga all of Longview. Three grandchildren, Michael Hancock, Terri Hancock and Brantsen Castloo and three great grandchildren; two sisters Elizabeth Thomason of Shreveport, La., Billie Kelly of Lake Charles, La., one brother John Hancock of Stonewall, La.
