Bobbie Sue Davenport's Obituary
Bobbie Sue Davenport, was born to Howard Cole and Lula Dee Jackson on August 5, 1930 in Longview, TX. She passed from this earth at the age of 84 years. Graveside services will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2 p.m. under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
Bobbie Sue was retired from Southwestern Bell after 35 years 10 months 5 days of service. Her passion and green thumb for flowers/plants was quite evident if you ever had the opportunity to feast your eyes upon her backyard. This sweet kind Christian woman will be remembered by the way she loved her family, friends, and co-workers.
Bobbie Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 20 plus years, Guy Davenport, daughter, Margaret Ballard, son, Melvin E. (Buzz) Ballard Jr., and sister, Barbara Ann Ford.
She is survived by her grandson, Buzz H. Ballard and wife Barbara, their daughter, Bree, granddaughter Rhonda Graeter, her children, Julie Dikes, Kori Davis, and Breann Nobles, daughter-in-law, Kathy Ballard. Great great grandchildren Zachary and Christian Dikes, sister Bette Durke, brothers Howard Jackson and wife Francine, and John Jackson, and stepson Danny Davenport and wife Linda. And numerous nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 720 N. 6th St., Longview, TX, 75601 or the charity of your choice.
