A little bit about Bob,,
He grew up in Henderson graduating from Henderson ISD in 1964. He was donned the name, "Quick Silver" because he was so fast on the football field. Bob served in the United States Air Force. He loved hunting and fishing since he was a young boy, taking his boys along with him. He was on a bowling league in Henderson and later in life, when he met the love of his life, Peggy, they would go bowling on date nights. He loved all kinds of sports; the Dallas Cowboys were his team. He also enjoyed golf, baseball and tennis, you name it, he was in his heart of hearts - an avid sports fan. He loved dogs and had many favorites along the way, but his sister thought of him as a 'dog whisperer.' Bob was incredibly resilient through lifes challenges both in health and loss, his resolve was solid. He would say, "It's just part of the deal." His strong facade undergirded a gentle touch which made him a good listener. Those that knew him, got to see his true heart for others. His mother led him to the Lord at an early age and encouraged him in daily reading and meditating on the Word. Later in life, Bob told his mom he wanted to meet a 'godly woman' that woman would be, Peggy and his mother was instrumental in that introduction. Peggy is and was his love.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Sipes Silvey, parents Elizabeth (Hand) Silvey and Meredith Silvey, children Rona Harrison, Nathan Silvey, and Harold (Bubba) Silvey.
He is survived by his son Matt Silvey and sister Rhonda Whitley, step-children Cindy Nash, James Nash, and Catherine Green-Nelson, six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and numerous other family members.
