Bob J. Melton's Obituary
Funeral services for Bob J. Melton, 72, of Longview, will be 2 PM Saturday in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend J. S. ?Slim? Sullivan officiating.
Interment will follow at 4:30 PM in Edom Cemetery, Edom, TX.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
Mr. Melton passed away at his residence Thursday morning.
A native of Crosscut, Texas, he was born February 6, 1931. Mr. Melton was retired from Sonoco as a production manager and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Navy during Ko-rea.
Survivors include his wife: Peggy Melton of Longview; Sons: Ricky, Vic and wife Sally, and Lance, all of Longview; Daughter: Tammy Gibson and Shane of Longview; Brother: Bruce C. Melton and wife Jean of Kilgore; Sister: Hazel Westinbarger of Roswell, NM; Twelve Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren; Special Daughters: Diane Akers and Family and Rosa Galvan; Mother in Law: Arlene Jones and friend LaVerne Thaxton of Callender Lake, TX. A number of nieces and nephews.
