Bob Eddy's Obituary
Bob Eddy passed from this life into his joyful reward Wednesday, April 17. A Celebration of Life service for Bob Eddy, 57, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Calvary Christian Tabernacle with Pastor Charles Chargois officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Mr. Eddy went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning in a local hospital. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Bob was born April 13, 1956 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to Thomas Eddy and Velma Caldwell. For over 30 years, Bob was a faithful and beloved member of Calvary Christian Tabernacle in Longview. As a long-term usher, Bob touched many lives, but more importantly it was his walk with God, not just the joy with which he opened doors for them, that most impressed all who knew him.
In addition to God, the ministry, and his Church family, Bob dearly loved his family and friends. The warmth of his heart was expressed through the joy of his laughter, which was most often heard during time spent with those he loved. Bob's relationship with God was evident in his joy of life, love of and loyalty to family and friends, and his refusal to harbor resentment and his ready willingness to forgive. Against whatever adversity he faced in life, he was successful as a Christian, as a father, grandfather, to whom he was affectionately known as, "Grandbob," as a friend and as an employee of the City of Longview Water Department, from where he retired after 30 years of faithful service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Dane C. Bryant, Thomas R. Eddy and John E. Eddy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Katherine Eddy-DuBose and Davina Eddy, son-in-law Steven DuBose who was like a son to him and grandchildren, Jayden and Jaylee DuBose, all of Longview; sisters, Sharon Freer of Warren, Ohio, Penny Stankiewiz of Erie, Pennsylvania, and brother Kerry Eddy of Brave, Pennsylvania; a host of friends and a loving Church family.
We love you, "Pops", the girls.
