Bob Canter's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Wyatt Canter, a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Friday, November 10.
Bob was born on September 5, 1961, to David and Patsy Canter in Portsmouth, Ohio. Bob followed his heart to Texas, where he married the love of his life, Becky. Together, they established a home in Spring Hill, where they raised their three children.
Bob was filled with love for sharing the things that brought him joy: Cincinnati Bengals football, history, and baseball. His love for history drew him to explore historic landmarks wherever he traveled, a passion he joyfully shared with his family. His love for music shone as a member of the Winterfield UMC choir for many years. Bob's heart extended beyond his immediate community; his spirit of service led him twice to serve the children of Tomsk, Siberia, with compassion and kindness.
Bob's memory lives on in the hearts of those he loved: his wife, Becky; daughter Sara McKinley and husband Nathan; sons Zachary and Jacob Canter; grandsons Caleb and Elijah McKinley; as well as his brother, David Canter Jr; sister, Shelly Kallas, and many extended family members. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, David and Patsy Canter, and his in-laws, Bob and Mary Hewitt.
Bob's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In celebration of his life, we remember his passion, quiet yet impactful teachings, and the love he so generously shared with those around him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to local organizations that Bob loved, The Longview Arboretum and Nature Center, Longview World of Wonders, and Winterfield UMC.
