Blanche Woodall's Obituary
Blanche Woodall
Blanche Woodall, daughter of Cosie Anna and William Riley Foshee, was born in Glenwood, Arkansas, on March 17, 1910. Mrs. Woodall moved to East Texas in 1935, and had been a resident of New London until 1999, when she moved to Longview. She passed away on December 20, 2004, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Woodall retired in 1968 from the London school system after 20 years and was a part-time Secretary for the City of New London for seven years.
Many lives have been enriched and blessed because of Mrs. Woodall?s love, encouragement, and support. Her life was fully focused on her family, her church, and her friends. She had been a member of the Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Troup, TX., since 1948, where she enjoyed adding her beautiful alto voice to singing praises to God and where she served as Church Clerk for many years. Whenever someone was ill or bereaved, she was one of the first to minister to their needs. Her family meant everything to her, and she took great pride in every accomplishment of each child, grandchild, and great grandchild. She was a devoted Christian, who always found something to smile about or be grateful for, even in the worst times. She had a fantastic sense of humor that brightened everyone?s day.
Blanche is survived by her husband, Gip Woodall of Kirby, Arkansas; daughter, Glenda Johnson and husband, Gary of Longview; son, Darryl Woodall, and special family member, Gary Bergner of Houston; son, Larry Woodall and wife Sue of Seattle,, Washington; granddaughter, Pam Johnson of Longview; grandson, Dean Johnson of Longview; grandsons, Doug Woodall and wife, Heidi of Seattle; and great grandchildren, Madi and Jake of Seattle. She is also survived by her sister, Des Mitchell and husband, Ray of Longview; sister, Ilee Morgan, of Louisiana; sister, Billie Adams of Turnertown; sister Juanita Watson of New London; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lenora Wisener, Veora Blackmon, and Native Story.
A special thanks to all the staff and residents of Eastman Estates for the wonderful loving care and joy they provided Mrs. Woodall over the past five and one-half years. She loved and treasured each one of them, and the family will be eternally grateful for their assistance.
