Birthel graduated from Kermit High School in 1962. As a teen and young adult, she created cherished memories by playing the accordion and singing at the United Pentecostal Church in Kermit, TX.
Birthel met the love of her life, Billy Parker, at church in Palestine, TX. They were married on May 7, 1965 and made their home in Kermit, TX. In 1967, they moved to Longview, TX where they raised their three children. In her career, she followed in her sisters' footsteps and worked as a Telephone operator at Southwestern Bell in Kermit, Texas in the early 1960s. She later became a homemaker and retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Highland Pines Nursing Home in Longview, TX.
Birthel was a fun-loving and outgoing individual who brought joy to those around her. She had a passion for music, singing, and writing songs. She loved pansies and her green thumb was evident in her beautiful flower garden. Travel and adventures with family were also a big part of her life, always seeking new experiences and making cherished memories.
Family game nights were a common occurrence in the household, where Birthel would often be found cutting up with her loved ones. Her warm and kind personality made her a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend.
May her love for music, gardening, family, and adventure live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
