Billy Reed's Obituary
Billy Reed passed away on August 24, 2024, in Longview, Texas.
A time of public viewing will be from 1pm-3pm Friday, August 30, 2024, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. A private interment will take place at Rosewood Park.
Bill was born March 6, 1947, in Trinity, Texas to Garvin and Delora Reed. He grew up in Trinity and attended school there. He served honorably in the US Air Force from 1968-1971, stationed in Utopia, Thailand during the Viet Nam War. After discharge he moved to Longview in 1971 where he met and married Inetha Simmons, and they lived and worked in Longview all their married life.
Bill worked as a truck parts salesman, having worked for Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliner trucking companies. He accepted the Lord in 1972 and was a fundamental Baptist. Bill enjoyed football, deer hunting and traveling.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Garvin and Delora Reed and his only sister, Mary Jane London, and his only brother, James. He is survived by his wife, Inetha, three nephews, Jimmy Reed, Rodney and Matt London, and a sister-in-law, Gail Reed and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
