Billy Jack Crawford's Obituary
Billy Jack Crawford, 77, of Henderson, went to be with the Lord on September 7, 2013. He was born in Timpson on January 16, 1936 to Aubrey Leon Crawford and Lorene Brown Crawford. Billy Jack was retired from the Air Force after 20 years where he served as an operating room technician. After retiring, he returned to his childhood home of Henderson and worked for Texas Utilities until he retired for a second time. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. Billy Jack was a Dallas Cowboy fan from birth and a devoted Texas Rangers fan as well. Until his later years, he was an avid fisherman and went at every opportunity.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 53 years, Dorothy Andersen Crawford, his parents and one brother, Jerry Crawford. He is survived by his children Billy Michael Crawford and wife Donna; Kelly Poovey and husband Don; and Lisa Ross and husband James, all of Henderson; grandchildren B.J. Poovey and wife Nicole; Jennifer Sprencel and husband Stephen; Eric Poovey and wife Alicia; and Patrick Ross; and great-grandchildren Skyler, Bethany, Tristan, Colton, Benjamin and Alexander. He is also survived by his sisters Janice Gage and Linda Graham of Longview and Betty Chanler of Kilgore; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 10, 2013 at 10:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will tonight at the Funeral Home from 6pm until 8pm.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Poovey, Eric Poovey, Patrick Ross, Stephen Sprencel, Ray Chanler and Colton Griffin
