Funeral services for Billy J. Blanton, Jr., 44, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Wednesday January 2, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road with Dr. Lynne Settlemyre officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 4, 2003 in St. Anne Cemetery in St. Anne, IL. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at Rader Funeral Home.
Mr. Blanton was born on April 16, 1958 in Harlan, KY to Billy Sr. and Bertha Blanton. He went to be with our Heavenly Father on December 30, 2002 at his residence after a long battle with cancer.
He moved to St. Anne, Illinois in 1974, where he met his wife, the former Lee-Ellen Finney. He has lived in Longview since 1982, where he was employed at Stemco Manufacturing for 20 years. He was a member of Greggton United Methodist Church. A loving son, husband, father, and brother, Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by his grandparents, Steve and Lena Owens, and sister, Mae Blanton. He is survived by his wife, daughters, Beth and Angela Blanton of Longview, parents, sisters, Doris of Brownsville, Lena and Eddie Noe of Longview, Connie of Bourbonnais, IL., Teresa of Amarillo, Mary of Kankakee, IL., Ronnie and Michael of St. Anne, IL., Joan of St. Anne, IL., brother, Steve of Kankakee, IL., special uncle, Henry Gray of Longview, nephews, Henry and Daniel Noe of Longview, and dear friends at Stemco Manufacturing.
