Billy J. Barton's Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Billy J. Barton, age 80 of Henderson, will be held Tuesday July 10, 2007 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Richard Stillwell and officiating. Burial will follow in the New Prospect Cemetery.
Mr. Barton passed away Saturday July 7, 2007 in a Longview Hospital.
Billy J. Barton was born June 29, 1927 in Henderson and was a lifelong resident of Henderson. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1945, and the served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.. Mr. Barton was a retired Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper where he served for 34 years. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a 32 degree Mason, he was on the board of directors of Eastex Telephone Co-op, and the New Prospect water board. He was a committee member of The Farm Service Agency, and also on the board of Directors of the New Prospect Cemetery. Mr. Barton also loved gardening, farming and fishing with his grandchildren.
Mr. Barton was preceded in death by his parents Clay J. & Jewel Barton, brother Clinton Barton, and granddaughter Kerri Hooker.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years JoNan Barton of Henderson, Son & daughter in law Keith & Brenda Barton of Henderson, daughter and son in law Cindy & Steve Hooker of Longview, Grandchildren Dr. Shane Barton & wife Tammy Barton of Shreveport, La, Dee Dee & Marc Green of Henderson, Clay , Kelli and Kyle Hooker all of Longview, great grandchildren Maley & Luke Green of Henderson, and Ethan Barton of Shreveport, La. brother & sister in law James & Joy Barton of Tyler, Sister in law Bettye Barton of Georgtown, a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clay Hooker, Kyle Hooker, Dr. Shane Barton, Marc Green, John Tieken, Galon White, David Harris, and Wayne Holland.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of the Trinity Baptist Church, and the Directors Eastex Telephone Co-op.
The Family visitation will be from 6pm until 8pm Monday at the Funeral Home.
