Billy D. Fenton's Obituary
Billy Don Fenton, age 79, of Longview, Texas, passed away on April 29, 2026. He was born on August 8, 1946, in Daingerfield, Texas, where his life journey began before building a life centered on family, faith, and service.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ima Fenton, and his sisters, Jody and Judy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ernestina Fenton, married for 55 years, and their four children: Jimmy Fenton and wife Anita; Candace Mikula and husband Randy; Robert Fenton and wife Angie; and Richard Fenton and wife Ashley. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Hunter Fenton and spouse Amy; Tatum Fenton; Karsten Guerra; Lexi Mikula; Gracie Fenton; Brandon Seale; Caidyn Kilby, Jaxon, and Madisyn Fenton. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Bentley Whitlock, Andrew Laylle, and Zachary Fenton, who brought him additional joy.
Billy is also remembered by Sandy Martinez, a beloved extended member of the family, her husband Pete, and their daughter Megan.
Billy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that reflected his dedication and sense of duty.
A man of deep faith, Billy spent many years serving as an evangelist, youth group pastor, and preacher. He devoted his time to ministering to others, including visiting local churches and nursing homes, sharing encouragement, compassion, and his love for God with those he met.
He was a man of many simple joys and passions. Billy loved playing guitar and singing, often sharing music with those around him. He enjoyed learning new things, frequently spending time exploring interests on YouTube. Some of his favorite moments were spent riding bikes with his grandchildren, fishing, and collecting watches. He also found comfort in relaxing with his favorite television programs.
Billy will be remembered most for his strong faith, kind heart, and generous spirit. He had a great sense of humor and was known for “telling it like it is.” Above all, he deeply loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them.
A memorial service will be held at Rader Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Billy will be cremated in accordance with his wishes.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
