Billy L. Duke's Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Billy L. Duke, 87, of Longview, Texas will be 10:00 A.m. at Trinity Baptist Church on Wednesday with Reverend Gary Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Elderville Cemetery on Hwy 322 & 2011 under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 6-8p.m Tuesday night at Trinity Baptist.
Mr. Duke peacefully passed away to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 17, 2022, at Longview Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Billy Duke was born April 18, 1935, in Nacogdoches, Texas to Green and Hattie Duke. He married his lifelong love, Betty Duke on October 26, 1956, and they spent 66 loving years together. Mr. Duke worked for Texas Utilities for 25 years and R&H Machine for over 25 years. Mr. and Mrs. Duke spent their time giving back to others, worshiping The Lord at their church Trinity Baptist Church and spending time with their family and friends. Billy would frequently serve as an usher with his Sunday School classmates during church services.
Mr. Duke is survived by his wife Betty Duke of Liberty, Texas; sons James Duke and wife Wanda Duke of Lonestar, Texas; Kent Duke and wife Kim Duke of Tatum, Texas; daughter Lesa Burdett and husband Kerry Burdett of Gilmer, Texas; sister in law Mary Philips of Batson, Texas; Sister in Law Thelma Strahan and husband James of Humble, Texas; grandsons Lance Duke of Longview, Texas, Jerid Newbie of Kilgore, Texas; granddaughters Mary Adair of San Antonio, Texas, Crystal Tombs of Dallas, Texas and Cassie Simmons of Waxahachie, Texas; great-grandchildren Cruz Conner, Shawn Newby, Aubrey Newby, Garrett Pale, Emma Sue Richardson, Macy Mae Jackson, and Jobe Johnson and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
