Billy Michael Bright's Obituary
Billy Michael Bright age 69, of Longview passed away August 7, 2017. He was born in Kilgore, TX October 3, 1947 to Billy and Ouida Faye Bright. Growing up he attended local schools in Kilgore and Longview then graduating from Longview High School in 1966. In 1967, Billy enlisted into the United States Marine Corp where he achieved the rank of Sergeant while proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was a skilled welder and his work took him all over the United States. Billy was of the Baptist faith. He was a true outdoorsman but nothing came close to his passion for fishing. If you could not find Billy just go to the local fishing hole and there he would be.
Those left to cherish Billy’s memory is his mother Ouida Faye Whitis, two brothers Hal and Bill Whitis, his wife Patricia Bright, three sons Chad, Cody and his wife Ashley and Colin Bright and his wife Jessica, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all.
His dad Billy Raymond Bright and step-dad W. L. Whitis both precede him in passing.
Graveside services will be 3pm, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview.
