Billy (Bill) Don Calfee's Obituary
A celebration of the life of Billy (Bill) Don Calfee, 68, of Whitehouse, formerly of Henderson is scheduled for 10:00am Wednesday May 27, 2015 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson, with Rev. Johnny Newton and Rev. Lester Foreman officiating. Interment will be at Shiloh Cemetery.
Billy passed away Thursday evening May 21, 2015. He was born January 3, 1947 in Houston to Donald and Mary Calfee.
Upon graduation, Billy completed training in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. In 1966 Billy served in the U.S. Army for 2 years during which time he was in Da Nang Vietnam. He returned home from the military service to start his career in A/C and Refrigeration Service work for 13 years.
In 1979 Bill moved to the East Texas area and worked over 30 years in the oil fields of East Texas. He was an active deacon for 23 years and was presently serving at Gateway Baptist Church in Whitehouse.
Billy loved to tinker with anything that had an engine. He was known for his wit, his kindness, loyalty, his love for family and his passion for God. He was a quiet man with a big heart.
He is survived by wife Sherry Keeling Calfee of 46 years, his daughter Amy Eakin, grandson Daniel Bowman, two brothers, Mark and Mike Calfee, and his faithful schnauzer Abby.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson.
Pallbearers Willie Akin, Kerry Brigance, Matthew Britten, Chris Dunn, Larry Keeling and Ray Rash. Honorary pallbearers are the men of the Joyful Noise Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gateway Baptist Church, 101 Leisure Ln. Whitehouse, TX 75791.
