Funeral services for Billie Jo Brooks, 77, a longtime Longview resident, will be held at Noon, Friday, October 7, 2005 at Greggton United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jonathan Byman officiating. Burial will follow in Summerfield Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Breckenridge on December 23, 1927. She passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 in Longview. She was a graduate of North Texas University in Denton and a member of Bi Sigma Phi. Billie Jo worked as an executive secretary for Earl Hollandsworth for over 50 years. She was a faithful member of Greggton United Methodist Church and Secretary treasurer for forty years.
A wife, mother, nonnie, and friend, she spent many happy years traveling all over the world. Billie Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Henry J. Smith and Rosalee Floyd Smith. She is survived by her husband, Connie Dewayne Brooks of forty-four years; daughter and son-in-law, Carol Lee and Walter Harman Chandler, and grandson, Brooks Harman Chandler of Dallas; as well as one son, Brad David Brooks of Longview. She is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
