Funeral Services for Billie Jean Doss, 82, of Longview will be held at 1 PM Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Greggton United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ricky Ricks officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the funeral home. Mrs. Doss was born on January 11, 1929 in Red River County, Texas to Roy and Letha Taft. She passed away on November 7, 2011 in a Shreveport nursing facility. She attended Longview High School, served as the President of the Pine Tree Booster Club from 1966 ~ 1967, was a member of Greggton United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Doss; and one sister, Virginia Ruth Holiday. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Betty Doss of Austin; Steve and Linda Doss of Shreveport; grandchildren, Adam, Kristin and Brian Doss; and great grandchildren, Caleb, Mackenzie, Alana, Aidan and Max; as well as one sister, Ima Dell Veach.
The family requests memorials be made in honor of Mrs. Doss to: Alzheimer's Association or Greggton United Methodist Church in Longview.
