Billie Blalack Crowley Hardie's Obituary
Billie Blalack Crowley Hardie went to be with her Lord on March 13, 2023 at age 93.
Born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late William and Mildred Elliott. She attended North Texas University and Southern Methodist University.
A syndicated columnist, she wrote a weekly column for Editor’s Copy – Syndicate, a syndicated news and feature service that went to editor’s across the United States and Great Britain. She also operated Blalack Oil Company and was a Real Estate Broker. She published Women’s World Weekly and The Greater Longview Post.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Church Women United. She found great joy in her faith. Billie was preceded in death by her husband Joe Blalack (1966), Bill Crowley (1981), and Dr. George Hardie (2001). Her sons Jack and Jay Blalack; sister Joyce Strickland.
She is survived by her children John Blalack, James Blalack and Jill Hurlburt: grandchildren Jennifer and husband Kevin Miller, Johnathon Blalack, Julie Blalack, William Blalack and Kristopher Hurlbert; nieces Jayne Hobbs and Julie Patterson; 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
