Billie Jean Carnes' Obituary
Billie Jean Carnes, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Longview, TX on Sunday October 5th, 2025.
Jean was born November 21st, 1943 in Lindale, TX to William “Bill” Wilson Clark and Nettie Ernestine Clark of Daingerfield, Texas. Jean attended Daingerfield High where she was a cheerleader. After graduation she married Ray Carnes and moved to Judson, Texas and later moved to Diana, Texas where she raised her family. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church for many years.
Jean had a successful career in outside sales. Before becoming disabled, she worked as a Regional Sales Manager for Dixie Petro Chem.
One of Jean’s passions was working in her yard and garden. She loved spending many hours outside planting flowers and working hard to keep her yard beautiful. She kept and maintained a beautiful yard until just a few years ago. In her earlier years, she also loved to paint and occasionally played the guitar.
Jean always loved a challenge. She was a self-taught computer builder. She enjoyed the thrill of putting computers together from scratch, loading software and working out the “bugs”. She would often spend hours playing video games online with her brother Dale; her favorite game being World of Warcraft.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Ray Carnes, her brother Dale Clark and nephew, Adam Clark. She is survived by her sister Peggy King of Boerne, TX (husband Hank King), sister-in-law Peggy Clark of Diana, TX, two sons, Skipper Carnes of Longview, TX (wife Veronica Carnes) and Michael Carnes of Hallsville, TX (wife Tami Carnes), grandchildren Joshua Carnes of Diana, TX (wife Meagan Carnes), Jessica Hokit, of Porum, OK (husband Hayden Hokit), Carli Lott of Hallsville, TX (husband Cody Lott), Chloe Pirkle of Round Rock, TX (husband Jared Pirkle) and numerous great grandchildren.
There will be private, family graveside service at Macedonia Cemetery in Pittsburg, TX.
