Bill Mauldin's Obituary
Bill Mauldin, 85, of Longview, Texas passed away at home on June 19, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lyla Mauldin of Harrogate, England, and parents James and Laurene Mauldin of Longview, Texas.
He is survived by his daughter Sharron Mauldin Holmes, grandchildren Rhiannon, Jaryd and Joel Holmes of Kilgore, Texas, and by his sister Linda Hogan of Mineola, Texas.
Bill served overseas in the United States Army where he met his wife in England. They moved to the states where they worked at a variety of family businesses, most notable being the South Green Miniature Golf Courses, Astro Link Resources, M&M Restaurant and As You Like It Catering.
He proudly earned his Bachelor Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in his late forties.
Bill loved to fish and barbecue and give life advice. He was a wonderful husband, father and papa. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
The family has chosen to have this online memorial only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
