Bill Helms, Jr.
Funeral services for Bill Helms, Jr., 55, of Tatum, will be 2 PM Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview with Rev. Jimmy Ames officiating. Burial will follow at Chalk Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 PM.
Mr. Helms died Saturday, October 9, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah while on a hunting trip with his father.
He was born August 10, 1955 in Tyler, Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 7 years before returning to East Texas and working in the Oil Field, starting his own business, Helms Packer Service for 25 years. He was a member of the Chalk Hill Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ford Helms and his sister, Marsha Anne Helms.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Becky Helms; father, William Helms and wife, Lynn; sister, Jana Alsup and husband Rhett; brothers, Stephen Starkey and Dalen Lindsey; sons, Troy Parker and wife, Becca, and Phillip Parker and wife, Sherry; 6 grandchildren, Jaden, Jordan, Jenna, Tex, Braxton, and Bryson; nieces, Jill Helms and Jessica Blackman.
