Funeral services for Bill G. Williams, 73, of Longview, will be held at 10 AM Friday at the Alpine Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Jim Crocker and Mr. Jesse Goza officiating. Burial will be in Alpine Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Wednesday morning, January 16, 2002 in Longview. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM Thursday, January 17, at the funeral home. Mr. Williams was born July 30, 1928 in Gregg County to Emmett and Effie Williams, a founding Judson family, and had been a lifetime resident of the Longview area. He retired from the Polyethylene Division of the Texas Eastman Co. after more than 40 years service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Alpine Presbyterian Church. He was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed all outdoor sports and activities. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving family, which include his wife of 49 years, Chris Williams of Longview; son, Bill Williams of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Tim Rogers of Longview, and Claire and Kevin Koonce of White Oak; grandchildren, Ryan Rogers of Longview and Haley Koonce of White Oak; sister, Bettie Penny and her daughter, Carrie Waters of Colorado Springs, CO. Pallbearers will be Joe Stafford, Bob Sitton, Bill Anderson, Lawrence McKelvey, Bob Sweat and Doyle Reed. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl McCullen, Jesse Goza, and all current and former employees of the polyethylene division of the Eastman Chemical Co.
