Beulah Louise Wilson Powell
Beulah Wilson Powell was born July 16, 1920 to Raleigh and Mary Wilson, the 8th of 10 children. She was born and raised in Watauga County, North Carolina. After graduating from Bethel High School, she moved to Detroit, Michigan and worked in a factory during WWII. While living in Detroit, she met and married Donald Powell on October 18, 1951. They lived in Dearborn, MI until retirement before moving to Longview, Texas in 1984.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband Don of 48 years, her parents, her brothers, Frank, Dave and Dean and sisters Lena, Minnie, and Nettie.
She is survived by one sister, Grace Perry of Hillsborough, NC, two brothers Joe and Rev. Carl Wilson of Watauga County, NC and by many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her daughter Donna Powell Murrell, two grandsons Stephen Murrell of Ore City, TX and Shawn Murrell of Gladewater, TX and one great-grandson, Matthew Murrell of Gladewater.
She passed away Monday, June 22, 2009 in a Longview hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park.
