Bettye W. Elkins' Obituary
Bettye Elkins went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, October 22, 2017. She died peacefully in her home. Funeral services will be at 2pm, Wednesday, October 25 at Rader Funeral Home with Jim Johnson, the pastor of Fellowship Bible Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at 1pm prior to the service. Bettye was born on September 4, 1936, to Marcus and Ada Wilson, in Woods Community, Panola County, Texas. She married Chester Lynn Holt July 3,1953, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was widowed at an early age, but married her soul mate, Irvin Elkins, on January 10, 1975, and they made a beautiful life together, filled with love, laughter & family. She is survived by three daughters, Linette Wright (Lee), Montgomery, AL; Dianne Conoly, Longview, TX, Patti Minor (David), Liberty City, TX, and a step-son Wade Elkins (Janet), College Station, TX. Bettye has 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and two brothers Howard Wilson (Mary Lou) of Carthage and Harry Wilson (Annie) of Clinton, LA. Her family would like to thank everyone who gave care to our beloved “Mimi”. We especially want to thank her caregiver Debra Stevens and the wonderful people at Heart to Heart Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the ministry of Fellowship Bible Church, her loving church home.
