Betty Wheeler's Obituary
Funeral services for Janie Elizabeth "Betty" Wheeler, age 82 of the Stewart Community will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2009 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Tatum with Rev. Trey Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart Cemetery under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mrs. Wheeler died Saturday June 6, 2009 ETMC Henderson.
Betty Wheeler was born June 16, 1926 in Whitehouse, Texas. She was a retired librarian having worked for the Rusk County Library in Tatum, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tatum.
She was preceded in death by her parents T.L. and Emma Gilley. Also preceding her in death were brothers T.L. Gilley Jr. and Ernest Gilley, and sister Helen Patterson.
She is survived by her husband James A. Wheeler of the Stewart Community; son Danny Gaines Anchorage, Alaska; daughter Jimmy Middleton & husband Jim of the Stewart Community; step son Rusty Gaines of Lake Whitney; grandson Brad Middleton & wife Liz, and great grandchildren Kayla & Mistie Middleton all of the Stewart Community.
There are also many nieces and nephews surviving.
The family will meet friends at the Funeral Home from 6pm – 8pm Monday night.
