Betty West's Obituary
Gravside services for Betty Jean Slentz West, 91, of Henderson will be held 10am Saturday July 29, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor John Cunyus officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday July 28, 2017 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home.
Betty was born March 3, 1926 in Three Sands, OK to Andrew and Bessie Slentz and passed away July 26, 2017 in Henderson.
Betty Married Jack West on March 4, 1944. She worked at Henderson Memorial Hospital from 1965 to 1981. From 1981 to 1989 she worked at the Rusk County Courthouse as a 1st assistant County Auditor. Betty was appointed as County Treasurer in 1990 until 1991.
Following Retirement, her and Jack worked for The Corps of Engineers as Gate Attendants in several states. They loved to travel in their motor home with their dog Peanut. Betty was very proud of her family, was loved and respected very much and she will be remembered always.
Mrs. West was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jack West, her parents, Andrew and Bessie Slentz, brother Leroy Slentz, sisters, Florence Deaver, Helen Springfield and Nita Rutledge.
Survivors include her sons, David West & wife Linda of Overton, Cecil West & wife Carla of Henderson, daughter, Nancy Graham & husband Doyle of Henderson, grandchildren, Tracy Young, Kellie Potts & husband Chris, Shane West & wife Deanne, Bryan Pool, John Wesley Pool & wife Janica, great grandchildren, Courtney Pool Nelson, Levi Dillon West, Ashley Pool, Wade Young, Mason Pool, Hannah Pool, Gavin Potts and Jack Young, great great grandchildren, Bryleigh Pool, Jace Nelson, Macy Nelson, Kolby Pool and Hadlee Marcell.
