Betty Thames Waters' Obituary
Funeral services for Betty Thames Waters, 76, of Longview, will be held at 10 AM Monday, September 19, 2005, at Wesley McCabe United Methodist Church, with Reverend Christi Conway officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
Mrs. Waters died Thursday, September 15, 2005, in a local medical center.
She was born in Henderson, TX on October 21, 1928 to Martin Luther and Ollie Manning Thames of Henderson. She worked as a bookkeeper for the First National Bank in Dallas and was an active member of the Wesley-McCabe United Methodist Church of Longview as long as her health permitted.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Gilbert Waters.
Betty is survived by one son and his wife, Jeffery Thomas and Sherry Waters of Longview; daughter, Vicki Waters; grandchildren, Lee and Travis Waters of Longview; sisters, Dorothy Richey of Henderson, TX, Virginia Hardwick of Houston; brother , Martin L. Thames of Minnetonka, MN; brother-in-law , Ailyer Waters of Texarkana, TX.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Wesley-McCabe United Methodist Church, 1115 S. Mobberly Ave., Longview, TX 75602.
