Betty Sartor Tinsley
Funeral services for Betty Sartor Tinsley of Longview will be held at 10 AM Thursday, December 2, 2004 in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum with the Reverends Tim Watson and Dewayne Beaty officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park?s Garden of Roses under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the funeral home, 1617 Judson Road.
She was born in Mira, LA., on August 17, 1929, to George A. and Bessie Sartor, and attended school in Ida, LA. She graduated from Cotton Valley High School in Cotton Valley, LA., and attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA. Mrs. Tinsley retired from Bank One of Longview, and worked part-time for a number of years for Texas Bank and trust of Longview.
Betty was passionate about her life and her family. Her energy, enthusiasm and dedication were infectious to all around her. Through her battle with cancer, Betty remained a dedicated Christian, wife, mother, sister, and friend to all. Her love and concern for others were up most. Those who knew Betty will be forever touched by her life, and the fine example she always set.
Mrs. Tinsley is survived by her husband, Roy G. Tinsley; granddaughter, Brittany Tinsley and her fiancé, Caleb Pickard; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Tinsley; one brother, Billy J. Sartor; and her dear friend Johnnie Britain, all of Longview. She is also survived by Willie Tinsley, her mother-in-law, of Orange; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Garrison of Mauriceville; Christie Breaux of Little Cypress; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Alger Tinsley, and her parents.
