Betty "Berta" Ross Wardlaw
Graveside services for Betty "Berta" Ross Wardlaw, 77, of Longview will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Hallsville Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She passed away Sunday morning, March 13, in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wardlaw was born August 11, 1933 in bad Feilnbach, Germany to Hans and Maria Ross and had been a resident of Longview for the past 41 years, moving from Shreveport. She was a professional seamstress for various manufacturing companies and a member of the Church of Christ. She was proud to be the wife of a U. S. Air Force veteran, and was proud to be a citizen of the United States of America. Mrs. Wardlaw was also an avid NASCAR Fan and a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, James Wardlaw of Longview; her devoted children, Rositta Meyer and husband Clark of Loveland, CO, Patricia Vaught and husband Craig of Arkadelphia, AR, and Jimmy Wardlaw of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Heather Nelson, Shelley Spear and husband Will, Daniel Vaught, Christopher Vaught and wife Melissa, John Ross Wardlaw and Crystal Wardlaw; sister, Milla Kasper and husband Franz and brother Hans Ross and wife Resie all of Germany; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Nichols, Harold Boland, Billy Melton, Russell Shoulders, T. J. Adams and Rex Gatlin.
