Betty Ruth Penney, 80, of Tyler, Texas passed from this life to her home in Heaven on January 9, 2021 due to a sudden illness. Betty is survived by daughters: Lisa Ferguson and husband, Billy, Sheri Dunlap, and Karen Cooper and h Read Obituary
Betty was one of the kindest most wonderful people I have ever met. She was such a blessing in my life and I am thankful she took good care of my Dad for so many years. I will miss my Dad and Betty so very much. I am so sorry they are gone but confident they are happy and healthy in heaven.
The service was beautiful and I am sorry I could not be there in person.

When I was five years old my family moved to Tyler. We started attending a small church in the area and it was there that we met Betty and her family. Our families became instant friends. We had lots of family outings together and even vacationed together. Betty “adopted” me into her little brood of four girls which was pure heaven for me as I was an only child. I became her fifth daughter, no questions asked!
My favorite memories of Betty was hearing her laugh. She and my mom we’re always laughing about something!
She was a beautiful soul and such a godly example for so many that knew her.
Prayers for this sweet family as we say goodbye (for now) to Betty.

Betty and I were classmates of the Henderson High School Class of 1958. I enjoyed being with her in our classes, especially chorus and P.E. She was such a good alto and was "Who's Who" in Physical Education! She moved back to Henderson before I did, and it was always lovely to 'run into' her when we lived there. We were pleased that we both had brothers who were HHS Distinguished Alumni.

Sincere sympathy to both Betty and Randy’s families. I ‘attended school with Betty at HHS. I knew Randy as my family lived in Mt Enterprise in the 40s and 50’s and knew his family well. Sweet memories of these loved ones and the Lord’s love will help you through these times of sorrow.
Betty was one of the sweetest women I’ve ever known. She gave and gave and gave of herself to so many people in so many ways. She was so loving and unselfish. Her faith in God and her service to Him is an example for everyone. So many were helped through her missionary work she so loved to do. She was also such a funny, straightforward person. If you asked what she thought or believed she was going to tell you unapologetically. I was always grateful for the love she and Randy shared. She added to his life in such wonderful ways and he adored her. I’m so glad to have known her and loved her.
