Betty Faye Mims' Obituary
Funeral services for Betty Faye Ramsey Mims will be at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, Texas on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11am with Reverend Charlotte Riddle officiating. Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 6-8pm. Mrs. Mims passed from her earthly life into her heavenly home on December 11, 2016. Betty was born April 16, 1925 in Gary, Texas to Homer Matthew and Bettie Mae Ramsey, who preceded her in death along with her husband of 54 years, Loyd T. Mims. Also preceding her in death: 11 siblings, 3 grandsons: Daniel Loyd Mims, Matthew Mims, and Wesley Riddle and 1 great-grandson, Austin Bond. Betty is survived by her children: Larry Mims and wife Carol, Mark Mims and friend Barbara Conley, Robert Mims and wife Patricia, and daughter Reverend Charlotte Riddle, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Mrs. Mims was a long time member of First United Methodist church in Longview. Betty and her husband Loyd lived in Wichita Falls, Texas for 32 years where she worked with AT&T before being transferred to Longview where she retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. She was a volunteer at Good Shepherd Medical Center, worked the Gregg County elections for several years, and volunteered at her church. Pallbearers will be: Jacob Mims, David Mims, Zack York, Tim Lewis, Michael Lewis, and Ethan Lewis. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery. A special thanks to Heart’sway Hospice for their loving care.
