Betty McLain's Obituary
Funeral services for Betty Boman "Memaw" McLain will be held at 2 Pm Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Rev. Billy McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park. Mrs. McLain passed away Friday morning in a local hospital. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Betty was born on December 21, 1933 in Wood County, Texas to Elbert and Daisy Boman. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Betty loved high school football and was a faithful Longview Lobo fan for many before switching to Pine Tree and then Kilgore later in life for the sake of her grandchildren. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved caring for them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James McLain; and her brothers, Travis Boman and Jerry Boman.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and their husbands, Debbie and Stanley Ray, Carolyn and Larry McAteer, and Janet Mauney, all of Longview; her grandchildren, Miranda and John Applewhite of Kilgore, Dr. Shona Ray of Little Rock, AR, Chris McAteer and fiancé Dannielle Walker of Longview, Adam Ray of Longview, and Taylor Mauney of Longview; and great grandchildren, Haylee and Chance Applewhite.
