Services for Betty Lyn Collier will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 2nd, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Reverend David Farmer will officiate. Following the service, the family will receive visitors at Fisherman’s Marke Read Obituary
Betty Lyn Collier and her family were super people. I used to hang out with her son, Ken when we were young. Betty Lyn would take us swimming at her club. They helped me get my first job at Eastman Chemical Co in 1982. They were considered family and were very supportive to my entire family. I cannot say enough good things about Betty Lyn. It was a pleasure to have them as friends.
As a young child, I spent untold hours at the Collier home with Ken. We would explore the neighborhood, returning, covered in mud or soaking wet from the creeks and storm drains. She would shake her head and give us a snack, then tell us to stay outside or just wash us down with the water hose.
Ken and I would chase her cat, Powwacket, and she would chase us with a broom. While getting close, she never seemed to catch us and always missed with the broom. But we always ended up outside again!
Such fond memories from my childhood. She will be missed.

Betty Lyn was more than a friend to John and me. She was a wonderful part of our family. John was her mail man and I was her cook. Laughter was always a part of our daily visits. We loved her deeply and she will be missed by all who knew her. Love you my friend 🙏❤️
