Betty Hatcher's Obituary
Betty Hatcher left this world to her heavenly journey on September 15, 2023 with her daughters, Valerie Hatcher and Christie Lee laying by her side at her home in Longview, Texas.
Betty was a native of Des Arc, Arkansas, born to Robert Tarrant and Louise McCrary on January 22, 1937. Betty graduated from Des Arc High School and attended Henderson State College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas from 1953-1956. Betty then married the love of her life, Bill Hatcher on November 29, 1958 in Caddo Parish-Shreveport, Louisiana. Betty retired from Citizens National Bank in Mt. Enterprise, Texas. She also worked for several banks including in Houston, Texas, Henderson, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas. Betty and Bill Hatcher lived in Mt. Enterprise for some time, then settled in Longview, Texas during their retirement years. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Enterprise, Texas. She was active in the church as a Sunday School teacher, treasurer, played the piano, and was in the choir. She also played the piano at First United Methodist Church in Concord. Betty’s love for the church was further enhanced by the service of Reverend Lou Gary Thomas, Jeff Gantz, and Carla Reed of whom she was quite inspired.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William Hatcher in 2010, whom she was married to for over 50 years. Other special family members who preceded her in death were her mother Louise, father Robert, sister, brothers all of Arkansas, and daughter, Kimberly J. Hanlon of Indiana.
Betty was survived by her daughters, Valerie Hatcher of Longview, Tiffany Johnson of Kilgore, Christie Lee of Mt. Enterprise, Shaquitta Mims of Longview, Cynthia Bristow of Tyler, brother Tim Tarrants of McRae, Arkansas, niece Yvette Hammond of Little Rock, Arkansas, niece Tish Fallis of Cabot, Arkansas, nephew, Wayne Tarrants of Cabot, Arkansas, Becky and Bill Spivey of Garrison, Daryl and Brenda Greene of Houston, and numerous other family, friends, and loved ones. Special mention to “momma’s angels” Faith Fisk of Longview, and Alyssa Stalheim of Overton.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2 pm.
