Betty Hartman's Obituary
Betty Georgie Hartman, daughter of John and Ruth Evans, was born on August 21, 1918 in Sherman, Texas and passed away on September 3, 2008 , at the age of 90. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Rader Funeral Chapel with Tom Jones and Greg McAdams, Church of Christ ministers, officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Betty attended school in Sherman, Texas. On August 21, 1939 she was married to Howard Warner Hartman and they had two children. She and Howard lived in Washington, Indiana for many years. They retired to Denison, Texas in 1977 where they resided until they moved to Henderson in 2002. She was a member of the South Main Church of Christ.
Betty was a Mother and homemaker who loved the Lord. She loved to laugh, she loved people, and she loved life.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 8 sisters and 5 brothers.
Surviving is her husband of 69 years, Howard Hartman; sons, James Hartman and wife Carolyn of Jefferson City, Missouri, and David Hartman and wife Patricia of Minden, TX; four grandchildren, Dana and Graham Smith of Rapid City, SD, Heather and Kelly Thomas of Carson City, NV., Rachel and Jason Larson of Tyler, TX., and James Hartman of Henderson; 6 great grandchildren; two brothers, John Evans and wife Betty of Lindale, TX., and Robert Evans and wife Helena of Garland, TX.
Pallbearers will be Gyp Hampton, Wayne Hampton, Paul Zimmerman, James Rowell, Bobby Davis and Jody Sory.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 PM
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Main Church of Christ.
