Betty Carolyn Hancock's Obituary
Betty Carolyn Hancock, age 78, of Longview passed away July 1, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born August 20, 1938 in Columbus, GA. Growing up she attended local schools in both Columbus and across the river in Phenix City where she graduated from Central High school. In 1971 she moved to Longview where she spent the next 45 years serving the East Texas area as a Lighting Consultant, finishing her career at Stone Works. Betty was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Longview.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Kelly Kerner Young and her husband Raymond, Jackie Hancock and his wife Altheia and Paul Hancock; three grandchildren Bailey Hancock, Amy Wilkinson and Jeremy Hancock, five great-grandchildren, one sister, and several extended family members. Betty’s parents, her beloved husband Lamar Hancock and son David Kerner all precede her in passing.
Graveside services will be 10am Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in the mausoleum at Rosewood Park in Longview. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the loving care and support Betty received from Life Care Hospice. In lieu of flowers suggested family donations may be made to Life Care Hospice, 911 W. Loop 281 # 204, Longview, TX 75604.
