Betty Sue Graham's Obituary
Betty Sue Graham, 86, of Longview, Texas, passed away September 4, 2023, in the care of her loving family.
Betty was born to parents, Hoyt and Volsie Simmons, December 29, 1936, in Lincoln, Alabama. She finished her education at Oxford High School in Oxford, Alabama.
She married James Douglas Graham, March 24, 1954, in Anniston, Alabama. They were married 56 years. She and Doug relocated with the army to several places in the United States as well as some time in Germany, finally settling in Longview, Texas in 1965. Betty is survived by her two daughters: Susan Roeber (Les) of Longview, Texas, and Pamula Anderson (Glenn) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Adam Roeber, Apryle (David) Douglas, Holly (Ellis) Barnsley, Chris (Sydney) Larson, Josh Larson, and Sarah Anderson. Nine great-grandchildren complete her family. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; Hoyt and Volsie Simmons, brother Charles, and her loving husband, Doug.
Born to a farmer and a housewife, Betty grew up in a loving home, and created a loving home of her own. She cared for her children and grandchildren with love and devotion. She could not have known that her efforts would yield so many stories and memories to comfort and endure for many years to come. She enjoyed watching westerns on TV, shopping with her dear friend, Hazel, and Alabama football- Roll Tide. There will be a private burial at Alpine Presbyterian Cemetery.
