Betty J. Duke's Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty J. Duke, of Longview, Texas will be held at 10:00AM at Trinity Baptist Church on Friday with Reverend Gary Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Elderville Cemetery on hwy 322 and 2011 and under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Family visitation will be held 6-8pm on Thursday night at Rader Funeral Home.
Mrs. Duke peacefully passed away to be with her Lord and Savior and her loving husband Mr. Billy Duke on September 25, 2023, in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Mrs. Betty Duke was born October 16, 1937, in St. Augustine, Texas to Edward and Faye Marberry. She married her lifelong love, Billy Duke on October 26, 1956, and they spent 66 loving years together. Mrs. Duke was a loving housewife and Mr. and Mrs. Duke spent their time giving back to others, worshipping the Lord at their church Trinity Baptist and spending time with family and friends. Betty served as a Sunday School Teacher during church services.
Mrs. Duke is survived by her sons; James Duke and wife Wanda of Lonestar, Texas; Kent Duke and wife Kim of Tatum, Texas; grandson Lance Duke and wife Lori of Longview; daughter Lesa Burdett and husband Kerry of Gilmer, Texas; granddaughter Mary Ellen Adair of San Antonio, Texas; sisters Mary Phillips of Batson, Texas and Thelma Strahan and husband James of Humble; grandson Jerid Newbie of Kilgore, Texas; granddaughter Crystal Tombs of Dallas; Cassie Simmons of Waxahachie, Texas; granddaughter April McMillan; great grandchildren Ava Espinoza, Shawn Newby, Aubrey Newby, Garrett Pholes, Emma Mae Jackson, Jobe Johnson, Mailey Bynum, Allison Bynum and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
