Bethel Lee Muntz's Obituary
On January 11, 2022, our beloved Bethel Muntz went home to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Born September 16, 1937, Bethel was the middle son of James and Lois Muntz. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James Charles, and Ernest Hilton Muntz and lifelong friend Jimmy Beall.
A lifelong Lobo, Bethel was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Longview High school.
On June 12, 1959, he married his sweetheart Edna Richardson and they lived in the Hallsville and Longview area all of his life.
Early in his career, Bethel had opportunities with Brookshires, learning a trade as a butcher. It was with those skills that would open Muntz Meat market, which he owned and operated from 1970 to 1991. Bethels favorite pastimes included softball, bowling, and a great game of 42.
After retiring, Bethel always was looking for ways to help others and gave his time and resources to assist with the benevolence program at Pine Tree Church of Christ. His passion for helping others and for a good game of dominoes will be missed by us all.
