Beth Fenton's Obituary
Beth Glanton Fenton, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 19, 2015. Beth was born to Jess and Verna Glanton on September 20, 1931 in Teague, Texas. She attended school in Hallsville during her elementary and junior high years. She graduated from Longview High School in 1947. She attended ETBC from 1947-1949.
She married Jack on Jan. 12, 1951, and they were happily married for 64 years. They lived in Corpus Christi when Jack was stationed there while serving in the Navy. They lived in Houston for 33 years, retiring and coming back to Longview. They were members of Oakland Heights Baptist Church. Beth was an artist, played the piano, loved to sew, and gardener.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bob Glanton.
She is survived by her husband; their children: Ann Fenton, Gay and Sherald Bell, Jackie and Bob Myers, and Gary and Cheryl Fenton; her grandchildren, Chris Bell, Jenny and Phil Van Dorf, Sarah and Tory Turner, and Josh and Amber Fenton.
She is also survived by her brothers Dwayne and Tommie Glanton and Jimmy Glanton; sister-in-laws Gene Glanton, Betty Lasiter, Ann Myers, Barbara Posey, Marilyn Fenton, and Darlene Fenton; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to express appreciation for the loving care given to our wife and mother by the west side staff and workers at Summer Meadows.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Rader Funeral Home. Internment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery in Longview.
